The Gambler offers various mystery boxes for PMCs who desire to gamble their way to riches or go broke trying. This trader also offers random kit generation with the new Mystery Loadout Box, which provides all the equipment you need to run a raid.

This Trader is in BETA DEVELOPMENT and is not finished. Down Below I have listed all available features of this mod and all current development details proposed for future updates to this mod. Updates are pretty frequent with this mod so if something doesn't work in your game, check to see if there is an update. Thanks for reading!
Gambler Overview
The Gambler sells a variety of configurable mystery containers that offer new ways to gamble for riches and better player equipment. This trader also offers a new way to randomly generate your next loadout through the new Mystery Loadout Generator. Balancing is a must when I first started creating this mod, as I have created an Automatic Price Balancer that runs on server start. This tool automatically calculates the "perfect" mystery container price depending on the mystery containers rewards, odds, and how profitable the container should be. This is explained fully in the trader features section.
Current Available Mystery Boxes
Mystery Wallet
- Gamble your roubles for a chance to win even more roubles or lose it all!
Mystery Key
- Includes almost all available keys to be unboxed, ranges from common keys, uncommon keys, rare keys, and extremely rare keys
Mystery Keycard
- From regular access keycards to the rarest keycards found throughout Tarkov, try your luck for access to some of the best loot rooms in the Lab.
Mystery Loadout
- One kit, one unbox. Includes all gear and equipment you need for a raid—all in one mystery box. Loadout is randomly generated and items correlate by rarity. Meaning if you unbox a high-end weapon you have a higher chance or receiving higher end gear and ammunition. Lower tier weapons will mostly consist of lower tier equipment and ammunition. Meme/cursed weapons have a higher chance of generating higher tier equipment and ammo, just for the meme.
- it is all a gamble, you never know what your gonna get! Also this feature is NOT perfect and will continue to receive updates in the future.
Weapon Mystery Box
- 305 weapons available to be unboxed, Includes Meta weapons, early wipe weapons, late wipe weapons, base weapons, and Meme/cursed weapons
Mystery Ammo
- Gamble your roubles for a chance at unboxing some rare ammunition, be careful as these can be a money sink, but worth it for a chance at some late wipe ammunition.
- Still working on stock and amount of rounds generated balancing and might even lock away a few of the better calibers behind quest rewards in the future
Mystery 2.5 Million Rouble 50/50
- Looking to double up your roubles? This mystery container offers a 50/50 chance for 5 million roubles or nothing at all. If your feeling lucky you might just end up rich or end up like a Timmy who lost it all and has to start doing loot runs on the Streets to make ends meet.
Mystery Bitcoin 50/50
- Gamble your Bitcoins for a chance at double or nothing

Trader Features
Automatically Priced Mystery Containers
- All Mystery Containers (excluding Mystery Loadout) will automatically price balance itself upon server startup and the generated prices depend on three factors:
- Flea market price of all rewards available from the Mystery Container
- Some reward items will instead use an "Override" price from the config that is meant to make certain items priced much more expensively like blacklisted ammo and armours, as I believe these items are way too cheap in SPT by default. These override prices can be configured and turned off in the config.
- Mystery container odds (Config Configurable)
- Expected profit return percentage of the mystery container (Config Configurable)
- Each mystery container has a "_profit_percentage" in the config which determines the profit margin each mystery container will have for each generated mystery container price. For Example:
- If the config has the following: "armor_profit_percentage": 1.10, The Armor Mystery Box will have an average return profit margin of 110% if each reward is sold on the flea market.
- Each mystery container has a "_profit_percentage" in the config which determines the profit margin each mystery container will have for each generated mystery container price. For Example:
- Flea market price of all rewards available from the Mystery Container

Quests (PlannedTM)
- Trader quest progression will include mystery container unlocks and the further you complete quests, more useful and interesting mystery containers will unlock.
- This is gonna take a while because I don't want to half-ass the quests and I want to make them as interesting as I can.
Installation
- Remove any old version of the Gambler trader before installing any new update located in SPT/user/mods.
- Download the mod, open zip file then drag and drop 'user' folder into your SPT directory.
- You don't have to worry about load order anymore as that is handled by the mod now.
Config Features: GamblerTrader\config\config.jsonc
- Ability to change mystery container prices, stock, and odds of each outcome (Current Odds are subject to change in updates)
- Profitability settings of each mystery container will directly influence each mystery container price
- All Mystery containers offer the ability to be disabled if you don't want the Gambler to offer certain mystery containers
Known Compatibility Issues:
- Raid Overhaul - Make sure The Gambler loads before Raid Overhaul in the Load Order. The console will spam handbook price issues if not properly loaded before Raid Overhaul
Recommended Mods:
- Kaeno Trader Scrolling - If you have too many traders this mod allows you to scroll to reach all of them
- UI Fixes - Provides a hot key to open mystery boxes quickly, instead of right clicking every container and pressing 'unbox'

Trader Stock

Update instructions: You MUST delete any previous version of the Gambler trader in SPT/user/mods before updating as the file name has been changed to help with load order and mod balancing. You WILL have errors if you don't.
- Fixed compatibility issue with new live flea prices update as the gambler trader was loading before price changes which made container price balancing inaccurate. As a result the mod folder name has changed again to fix load order, any previous version of the Gambler trader must be deleted before installing this update.

LOAD ORDER: Make sure TheGambler loads last or close to last, as any mod you have that manipulates flea market or trader prices will have a major effect on the balancing of each gambling container.

Loadout Generation
- Added splints to generation pool

- Each tier of loadout will have a slight chance of generating equipment and items of a higher or lower rarity
- This change is meant to add more variety as now generation of items isn't guaranteed to be of a certain rarity. For example scav tier loadouts can sometimes generate better armour or better backpack, etc...

Automatic Mystery Container Price Balancer
- All mystery containers (excluding Mystery Loadout) are now officially price generated by the automatic price balancer.
- Weapon Mystery Box and Mystery Helmet will calculate the price of the base weapon/helmet and all the included attachments when determining the final container price.
- Rewrote how containers are price generated. Now all calculations are much more accurate than the previous implementation.
- Container price generation during server load is now much faster, pretty much instantaneous.
BALANCING:

Most Mystery Containers now have infinite trader stock as I'm much more confident with the automatic price balancing as this change allows the player to gamble until they are broke.

Re-calibrated overall chance to profit on all containers:
- With the change of allowing infinite container stock and better automatic price balancing, all containers are set at a fair price to allow the player to gamble to their hearts content. Most containers will be a little more expensive than before, but keep in mind there is always a chance to strike it rich, as everything is a gamble.

The only main issue I am having with balancing is the price of blacklisted items that don't have a finite price that everyone agrees on. This is something that will continue to updated on. Blacklisted item prices like ammo and armour can always be changed in the config at "mystery_container_override_price" if you want to take a look at how I've been pricing items that are injected into the automatic price balancer.

- Fixed mistakenly mixed up weapon mystery box tiers, which created weapons of different tiers than expected.

0.1.9 This update includes a few bug fixes and a couple features, but mainly a balancing update to the new Ammo Mystery containers. My thinking is that I want Mystery Ammo to be a viable way to slowly generate good ammo, albeit kinda expensive. Maybe even locking away some of the better caliber Mystery Ammos behind quest reward unlocks in the future, but as of now it's something I'm thinking about.

Added - Mystery Container Automatic Price Balancer
- All Mystery Containers (excluding Weapon Mystery Box and Helmet Mystery Box for now...) will now automatically price balance itself upon server startup and the generated prices depend on three factors:

- Now no matter if you are using another mod that manipulates flea market prices like the Live Flea Prices mod, or have manually configured prices of items yourself, all Mystery Containers prices will compensate for such changes. The goal is to have all containers as precisely price balanced as possible and this is the first step I have taken to accomplish this.
- This addition is NOT perfect and relies on a NEW 'Override' feature I have created in the config file that updates the prices of many blacklisted ammos and armors that should be much more expensive than they really are. This helps mystery containers generate much more realistic prices.
- All Mystery Containers (excluding Weapon Mystery Box and Helmet Mystery Box for now...) will now automatically price balance itself upon server startup and the generated prices depend on three factors:

Weapon Mystery Box (Buff)
- Reconfigured the odds for each rarity, Greatly reducing the chance of receiving a base weapon with zero added attachments as these weapons had a really high chance before and were very boring to receive as frequently as they were previously.
