About

This mod introduces a Dynamic Soundtrack system that changes what you hear in-raid based on the map and your combat state.

There are many other features, including main menu music replacement and “jukebox” hotkeys. Check the next tab for more details.

The purpose of this mod is to be a comprehensive tool for anyone who wants to change the musical experience of SPT.

Features

Dynamic Soundtrack:

This mod allows you to import your own audio files into a dynamic soundtrack.

The Dynamic Soundtrack has multiple components, and is highly configurable in the mod’s F12 menu.

The ambient soundtrack component will use your audio files to build and shuffle a playlist that you will hear throughout the raid. The particular audio files that it uses for each raid depends on the map that you are playing on, since you can set certain audio files to only be accessible on specific maps. Use the F12 menu to change how the mod builds the ambient soundtrack playlist.

The combat soundtrack component will use your audio files to build and shuffle a playlist that you will hear when you enter a state of combat. There are 5 triggers for entering a combat state: firing your gun, hearing gunfire close-by, hearing explosions close-by, being shot at, and being hit. Each of these triggers can send you in a combat state for different lengths of time. Your combat state will never be shortened by a trigger. Nearly every aspect of the combat soundtrack component is configurable in the F12 menu, including the volume of the ambient soundtrack during the combat state.
If you feel like the combat music triggers too easily/frequently, try setting “Combat duration when firing” to 0 in the F12 menu. Especially if you’re using a mod like Backdoor Bandit.

Custom Menu Music:

This mod allows you to import your own audio files that will replace the main menu’s music and play in a random order.

The volume is controlled using the game’s music slider.

Replace Raid End Music:

This mod allows you to import your own audio file that will replace either the music that plays after a failed raid (death, MIA), or the music that plays after a successful raid (extraction, run-through).

If you add more than one file for either type of raid end, the mod will choose a random one to play.

Spawn Music:

This mod allows you to import your own audio file as a track that will play when your character spawns.

The ambient soundtrack will not play while the spawn music is playing.

If you add more than one file, the mod will choose a random one to play on spawn.

Replace UI Sounds:

This mod allows you to import your own audio files that will replace various sounds in the game’s UI.

These sounds include all the quest sounds, the sting you hear at the moment of death, the trader transaction sound, and the error sound.
If you add more than one file to a single sound, the mod will choose a random one to play each time.

Jukebox Controls:

This mod introduces configurable hotkeys that allow you to control the main menu music and the ambient soundtrack. You can restart tracks, pause/unpause tracks, skip to the next track, and play the previous track. If you don’t replace the main menu music, this feature will still work for the vanilla main menu music.

Adding Your Own Music

You can add the follow types of audio files: .mp2, .mp3, .ogg, .wav, .aiff, .s3m, .it, mod, .xm, .xma, .vag

Multiple people have reported issues caused by their mp3 files. While I am not certain, I believe the issue is caused by some files with the extension “.mp3” not actually being properly encoded like an mp3. If you run into problems, you can try using an audio conversion website or software to convert your audio files to a compatible file type (mp3, ogg, etc.)

Open BepInEx/plugins/BobbysMusicPlayer.

You will see 5 folders, here’s what each one is for:

CustomMenuMusic: This folder has a subfolder called “sounds”, which is where you will add all of the music you wish to hear in the main menu. Add as few or as many tracks as you like, because the mod will shuffle your tracks and only load as many as you need each time you enter the main menu (60 minutes’ worth by default, but this is configurable).

DeathMusic: This folder is where you will add the music you wish to hear in the post-raid screen after a failed raid (Death, MIA). If you add more than one file, the mod will use a random one.

ExtractMusic:This folder is where you will add the music you wish to hear in the post-raid screen after a successful raid (Extraction, run-through). If you add more than one file, the mod will use a random one.

Soundtrack: This folder has 4 subfolders: “combat_music”, “default_soundtrack”, “map_specific_soundtrack”, “spawn_music”.

- combat_music: This is where you will add the audio files that you wish to hear when you are in a combat state. Add as many tracks as you like, and a random one will be used each time you enter a combat state. It’s very important that the track loops well, or is long enough that you won’t ever be in combat long enough to hear the ending. Be mindful that you do not add too many tracks that are too long, as it will lead to increased load times. The mod comes with 5 tracks included in this folder. The included tracks are trims of Geneburn/EFT songs (Thank you MrBox15 for the original files).

- default_soundtrack: This is where you will add the audio files that you wish to hear on every map. Add as few or as many tracks as you like, because the mod will shuffle your tracks and only load as many as you need for one raid (50 minutes’ worth by default, but this is configurable). If using mods that make your raids longer than normal, use the F12 menu to make sure the mod loads as much music as you need.

- map_specific_soundtrack: This folder contains a subfolder for each location in the game. If there are tracks that you only want to hear on specific locations, put those tracks in the folder with the corresponding location name. Use the in-game F12 menu to change the relationship between map_specific_soundtrack and default_soundtrack. The default setting is “Combined”, which means that the ambient soundtrack in a raid will be a random combination of your default_soundtrack and your map_specific_soundtrack for that location.

- spawn_music: This folder is where you will put the music that you wish to hear at the very beginning of raids. The ambient soundtrack will not play while the spawn music is playing. If you add more than one track to this folder, the mod will use a random one each time you spawn.

UISounds: This folder contains a subfolder for each UI sound that you are able to replace. If you want to replace any of these sounds, you will drag an audio file into its folder. Keep these tracks very short, like they are in the base game. I suggest only adding one file per subfolder, but if you add multiple files to one subfolder, the mod will pick a random one each time the game tries to play that sound.

Note: “QuestCompleted” refers to the sound cue for when you complete a quest’s objective, whereas “QuestFinished” is for when you actually talk to the trader to finish the quest.

Community Music Packs

To Download/Install music packs:

Find music packs in the list below. Click the download link (at your own risk), and unzip the folder that you download (use 7Zip if it’s a .7z).

Music packs that are marked with a green asterisk (*) can be installed by simply dragging their BepInEx folder into your SPT directory (like how you installed this mod).

Music packs that are marked with a pink asterisk (*) have folder structures incorrect or out-of-date.

To use these packs, you will open their folders and find the audio files. Then you will drag those files to the correct folder in your directory. Refer to the instructions in the tab: “**Adding Your Own Music”**.

Music packs that are marked with a red asterisk have dead download links that need to be updated or replaced.

If you like a music pack, make it known to others by giving it a thumbs up in the comments, or reach out to the music pack author directly to let them know.

The music packs are organized under the mod components that they affect. The bold parenthesized text after the titles of certain music packs represents which subfolders of the mod component are affected.

CustomMenuMusic:

  • *Junko Space Mommy’s Music Pack Collection. This is a collection of dozens of different music packs made by Junko Space Mommy. If your a Touhou fan or weeb or a music lover, you’ll love these packs. I have all flavors. The Touhou OST (which due to recent events has issues with the 19th game been hard to look for), Geneburn, Circles such as Undead Corporation, Demetori, STACK, and music from the Call of Duty games (MW2 and Black Ops to name a few) Girls Frontline Arknights quite a long list. I have more planned eventually at least 1 to 2, but for now enjoy!
sidenote: adding the music of which ever pack you choose to combat helps greatly if you want banging soundtrack for fights. Also while you can find the individual packs on my profile, I’d suggest getting ZIPS from here so you don’t have issues with downloading files or the Music Player. but that is up to you. (Get the Music Player first before you touch those ones)
  • *SiulSC - NFS The Run WAV Music. Exclusive set of handpicked garage soundtracks and with no compression whatsoever, meaning you guys will be able to hear these tracks unlike before and since you can’t find these tracks anywhere on the internet in this format/quality, I also named every file conveniently for those that want to do anything else with the music here.
  • *Cross - Better Half Soundtrack. Lofi, groovy, funky vibes for playing stash tetris.
  • *Schuetze_Klaus - Tactical Espionage MusicPack. I had this music since SPT 3.5.x and I’m so happy that we finally have a working Music Mod for 3.9.x so I thought I could share my music with you! It’s a collection of tracks from: Metal Gear Solid games, Full Spectrum Warrior, vanilla EFT, songs from David_Fesliyan and Avery Alexander, Die Hard Trilogy, Goldeneye 007 N64, Project I.G.I, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. I think those tracks fit the game very well, and I hope you like them as much as I do! Also there are a few songs from good old movies!
  • *MrBox15 - EFT Music Extended. This pack includes all the vanilla main menu music + some additional made by Nikita for the game’s trailers or that does not appear in Live Tarkov but that could fit in the game. All tracks are created by Nikita (Geneburn).
  • *sheepy - NEOTOKYO° OST. A selection of songs from NEOTOKYO°, a niche Source mod that’s free on Steam. The whole playlist is dark and broody, with hints of desolation that give cyberpunk that classic dystopian vibe. Made by Ed Harrison, you can check out the OST on his Bandcamp here.

recommended volume for both spawn and ambient: 20 to 30%, tested at 50 system volume with a pair of decently high-end sony headphones, and with some mixing done to normalize the volume levels of all tracks to avoid any of them being too loud or too quiet and allowing for user volume adjustments via the f12 menu

Releasing Music Packs

Making Music Packs:

You can make a music pack for the following components of this mod:

- CustomMenuMusic

- Soundtrack

- RaidEndMusic

- UISounds

Each music pack may only be made for one of the main components of this mod. That means you are not allowed to make one music pack that affects both the Custom Menu Music and the Soundtrack component, you must pick one, or do them separately across multiple packs.

When making a music pack, make sure it includes this series of folders: “BepInEx/plugins/BobbysMusicPlayer”. Depending on what your music pack is for, include the rest of the file path with your audio files. Then, compress your music pack folder, and upload it somewhere (like Google Drive).

Any music pack with a green asterisk (*) on the Community Music Packs list is a good example of what one should look like.

Releasing Music Packs:

You do not have permission to upload music packs for this mod to this website.

If you wish to share a music pack, go to the comments for this mod and find the pinned comment. Reply to it in the following format:

“[Mod component] - [music pack title] - [embedded download link]

[optional description/explanation]“

I will then check to make sure that everything is done correctly, and if it is, I will add your music pack with your name, download link, and description (if you wrote one) to the “Community Music Packs” list above. If there is something that needs to be fixed first, I will reach out to you.

Be very careful about downloading music packs that have been uploaded separately to the SPT Hub. Those links are required to include the file that makes this mod work. That means that if they provide an outdated version of this mod, or a different mod altogether, you will run into issues. This can be avoided if you make sure you first install this mod, and then only move their audio files into their correct folders.
If your plugins are failing to load, and your F12 menu is empty, this is likely the reason.

To install:

Download the latest release from the “Versions” tab, unzip the folder, and then drag the “BepInEx” folder to your SPT directory.

To update:

If given specific instructions in the version release, follow those instructions. Otherwise, simply follow the install process.

To uninstall:

Delete the folder “BobbysMusicPlayer” in BepInEx/plugins.

Most Music is not included

This mod only comes with audio files for combat music.

For everything else, you have two options: Add your own music, or install a music pack.

If you want to add your own, check the “Adding Your Own Music” tab.

If you want to install a music pack, check the “Community Music Packs” tab.

Known Issues:

- Multiple people have reported issues caused by their mp3 files. While I am not certain, I believe the issue is caused by some files with the extension “.mp3” not actually being properly encoded like an mp3. If you run into problems, you can try using an audio conversion website or software to convert your audio files to a compatible file type (mp3, ogg, etc.).

- If you install a music pack and it doesn’t work, it’s probably because that music pack is outdated. Make sure you read the instructions on the “Community Music Packs” tab so that you know how to properly install outdated music packs.

Recommended mods:

Solarint’s Bullet Crack Fix will help make sure that the Dynamic Soundtrack doesn’t think you’re being shot at when you aren’t.

This mod has a thread in the #mods-development channel on the SPT Discord. You can go there for support, discussions, etc. for this mod and its music packs. If you’re trying to have a conversation with me about the mod, do it there rather than in the comments.

  • Fixed some maps not loading their soundtracks properly
  • Added a configurable active headset multiplier for in-raid music
  • Added support for more audio types: .mp2, .aiff, .s3m, .it, .mod, .xm, .xma, .vag.

  • Improved looping of Denial - Combat Track, so make sure you replace the old one with this new one.
  • Player is no longer allowed to set combat faders to 0 (apparently computers don’t like dividing by 0 or something).

Make sure you read Version 1.2.0’s description before updating from an older version.

If you are using ModSync and this mod is not running at all for you, the issue is likely being caused by empty folders not being synced. Missing folders will break the mod, so you must manually install this mod and make sure that you are not missing any folders.

Big update: new Dynamic Soundtrack system, UI sound replacement, spawn music, jukebox controls. The download link has a list of changes, and the overview tab has all the details on everything new.

Before updating from a previous version, either delete the “sounds” folder in BobbysMusicPlayer/Soundtrack, or rename it to “default_soundtrack”.

Note: The mod now comes with 5 tracks included as “combat music” for the Dynamic Soundtrack. These 5 tracks are trims of Geneburn/EFT songs so that fights can feel like you’re in a Tarkov trailer. Thanks to MrBox15 for the .ogg files.

This is the in-game ambient soundtrack that was added to DayZ with the 1.25 update. It does not include any new tracks added with Sakhal/Frostline. The tracks are very dark, almost horror themed tracks that mesh very well with the bleak vibe of Tarkov.

A selection of maidcore tracks that I find fit really well with Tarkov. These maids teach you which spoon goes with which soup, the proper way to address the Duchess, and how to clear rooms with a fireteam.

CustomMenuMusic - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019-2022 Menu Songs - Download

the teaser for the main event, this is a playlist of 6 tracks (3 from mw19, 3 from mw22) played on the main menu – all dark orchestral with some electronic elements, all courtesy of sarah schachner, and meant to play well with my spawn/combat music pack of mw2019 tracks

Soundtrack - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 Spawn/Battle Music - Download

“You draw the line wherever you need it, Sergeant…”

my most ambitious pack so far – 15 distinct tracks from cod mw2019’s fantastic soundtrack, composed by sarah schachner and capturing a distinct dark orchestral feel well-suited to tactical combat. i’ve not only edited down tracks to serve as brief yet captivating spawn themes similar to the ones seen in mw2019 multiplayer, but also created looped mixes of several of the high-energy tracks to serve as cinematic and intense background music that flows as well as possible during gunfights

recommended volume for both spawn and ambient: 20 to 30%, tested at 50 system volume with a pair of decently high-end sony headphones, and with some mixing done to normalize the volume levels of all tracks to avoid any of them being too loud or too quiet and allowing for user volume adjustments via the f12 menu

Junko Space Mommy’s Music Packs for SPT- Junko’s Music Packs - Google Drive

(Get the Music Player first before you touch those ones)

is there a way to increase the volume of the combat music?

There should be a setting in the F12 menu dedicated to that. If you’re not seeing it, you might need to tick the box in the F12 menu that lets you see advanced settings

It seems like the “subtask complete” sound effect won’t play in raid. So far both using .wav and .mp3 and different sound effects it just doesn’t make any sound of whatever I do.

Hi, friend. There is a problem with playing music when starting a raid, first one track plays, then the second one when moving, how to fix this?

Sorry, I don’t understand the problem. What do you mean by “then the second one when moving”?

When you spawn in a raid, two songs play, although only one should play.

Here’s a video of what it looks like: https://youtu.be/LmyxNjUmPTU

Thanks for the video. It looks like the first song plays for a second, and then switches to the next song.

Open the F12 menu and look at the mod’s keybinds for the jukebox controls. It’s possible you’re accidentally pressing the button that skips your song. If that’s the case, then change the keybind, or remove the bind completely if you don’t want to use the jukebox controls.

Also, check the folder: BobbysMusicPlayer/Soundtrack/spawn_music. It’s possible that you have some bad audio files in there that are too short and cut off abruptly.

At first, I thought there were assigned keys, but at the beginning of the video, I didn’t touch the keyboard at all. In the previous version of the mod, I used the same files as in this version, but I added a few additional files. In the attached comment, I’ve included links to download the audio files so that you can include them in the description along with the ready-made sets. Additionally, there isn’t a specific soundtrack that always plays first, followed by another one. Could this be due to the large number of files?

Where are these links that you’re talking about?

Additionally, there isn’t a specific soundtrack that always plays first, followed by another one. Could this be due to the large number of files?

If you have a file in BobbysMusicPlayer/Soundtrack/spawn_music, that will always play first. If you have multiple files in BobbysMusicPlayer/Soundtrack/spawn_music, the mod will randomly pick one to play first before playing the ambient soundtrack.

The ambient soundtrack will always play songs in a random order. It does not matter how many files you have in its folder

Can you confirm that you don’t have any files in your spawn music folder?

Here I have collected only the best music sets from CS2 that suit the atmosphere of Tarkov.

Hopefully the spawn music pack will give you a clue as to what’s causing this bug. I’ll try deleting some of the songs and post how the mod behaves.

Those files have restricted access so I can’t download them.

You just need to check the files that are in the spawn music folder and make sure nothing is wrong with them. For example, if a spawn music file is only one second in length, that would cause the issue that you’re experiencing.

If your spawn music files all seem normal, then try converting them to the .ogg file type using some file converting website or app.

If you do everything I said and you still have the same problem, then let me know and provide the file LogOutput.log in your BepInEx folder

I have provided you with download access. Here is a link to the logs. There should be no corrupted files in the soundtrack folder. I hope that the logs will help you resolve the issue. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F4EnFuaVFIO0f_cNKzDWgNziSBY0ykzi/view?usp=sharing

It loads menu tracks and spawn tracks , but it seems like it can’t either detect or use the .mp3 and .ogg files put into ambient or combat track folders. Any solutions on how can I fix this?
Thanks!

Firstly, please make sure you’re using the right version of the mod for your version of SPT. Maybe even reinstall just to be safe.

If you’ve 100% installed on the right version, can you swap the files from your menu music folder with the files in your ambient music folder? Let me know what plays and what doesn’t play after that. It will help us rule out if the files themselves are the issue.

If after you do the swap, the menu music is no longer working but the ambient music is, that means the files are the issue. In this case, you can try using audio file converting websites or apps to convert your audio files to .mp3 or .ogg. I know you said those were already your file types, but sometimes they’re not encoded properly, and converting them fixes that, even if you’re converting it back to its own file type (like converting .mp3 to .mp3).

If after you do the swap, you’re having the exact same issue where the menu music is working but the ambient music isn’t, then I’ll need to see the file LogOutput.log in your BepInEx folder to figure out what’s wrong.

Reinstalled it and tried the audio files and they worked fine in both folders. Perhaps a music pack was outdated or poorly modified. It works pretty well now , thank you Bobby!

Would you mind sharing where you originally got it from?

I mixed some of my own musics (which work apparently) with the MW2019 pack from this page. I suspect it was because of that pack OR that I just installed the mod incorrectly.

Sorry just need a little additional clarification: The MW2019 pack you’re talking about, did you find it in the list that’s on this mod page, or did the pack have its own mod page on the SPT-Hub?

I found it on this mod’s page. And no worries I’m willing to help.

Is this a bug? The music is too long and keeps playing, and I can’t switch to the next song.

Which music are you talking about? Menu music, ambient soundtrack, or combat soundtrack?

Menu music and ambient soundtrack play an entire song before automatically playing the next, but they are supposed to be skippable. If you aren’t able to skip those that would be a bug, but I’d first suggest changing your keybind for the jukebox controls through the F12 menu.

Combat music is not skippable but if you feel it lasts too long, you can customize its length (or effectively disable it) in the F12 menu.

I apologize for my unclear description. When I put the music from your Combat music into the CustomMenuMusic\sounds folder, it will play randomly and I can switch to the next song.

I feel like it would be really cool to have a “Tension” state, along with Combat and Idle, for those cases when you quickly kill an enemy and the fight is clearly over, instead of playing the Combat music for some time, when there is no combat, Tension would play instead, maybe there are more enemies around that heard the gunfire and are coming, so it would fit. Though, what I have suggested would probably require a list of “active enemies” that are fighting you, to determine when the fight is over accurately, which might be too crazy, dunno. It could also be used to easily tell when you killed an enemy, which is an advantage, but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

It could also be cool for when there is action going around you, but no one is shooting at you directly, or when you and the enemy broke contact and are trying to get the drop on one another by moving around, throwing grenades and such, it should generally last longer than combat state, I think.

Glad the mod was updated for 3.11! Thank you for that.

“Tension” state would be cheating, I think…

And combat music plays for a few seconds after the shooting/explosions near you end on stock settings. After that map soundtrack plays if you have it..

I get how the combat music triggers, it’s just that it feels a little awkward to still have it playing for a couple of seconds in those situations when it was a fight that ended almost immediately, it’s not that big of a deal, I just thought that I would want to hear a track that is in-between idle and combat at a moment like that.

As for cheating, I get that it could make it a lot more obvious when you kill all enemies that were fighting you, but I don’t think that is that crazy powerful, and other than that, it wouldn’t change anything?

I’m not really sure if tension state should be triggered by “there is action going around you”, maybe not, I was thinking of it simply having a bigger radius or something, but what I said is kinda vague and I’m not sure myself. But I do think that it could be interesting if simply shooting would only trigger tension, maybe you sniped someone with one shot or killed them very quickly, it’s just not the same kind of situation when you are in a gunfight with enemies that are shooting at you, with grenades exploding etc. and it would also play for a bit after the combat state ends, when you are either trying to find the enemy that hid somewhere, or hiding and healing, or killed the enemy (maybe some enemies heard the gunfire and you aren’t very safe, compared to walking around quietly), I think that for all of these situations, a different set of tracks, other than combat and idle, would fit nicely.

I thought about it a bit more, Tension state could also be useful if someone wants to have idle tracks, but for the music to turn off when the situation is a bit more dangerous and they want to be able to hear a little better(I know, in that case, might as well not have the mod, but, still, an option that might work for someone who wants a middleground). Could have Tension muted, to basically mute idle for some time after combat ends/after shooting at something, and then either have combat music or not too.

I realize I’m talking about it a lot, but, hey, I just think it would add more to the mod, the tension state could be optional, so it’s just a thing that someone could use if they want, the more options, the better, right? And, of course, entirely up to you and Bobby if you want to work on a feature like that, just throwing out an idea that came to mind after playing with the mod.

It’s really not a bad idea at all, the thing is just that it would be pretty difficult to implement well (at least for me).

Even if I could get it to work, I’m not convinced that the effort would be worth it in the end since most people wouldn’t bother with customizing a third type of in-raid soundtrack for the moments between combat and ambience. Maybe I’m wrong about that though.

That was an interesting suggestion about simply muting the music for a short period of time when combat music ends. I’ll have to think more about that
