Decided to make a preset after countless times tweaking in sain across multiple versions. I have no coding experience this is just my tweaking based on so many hours of trial and error and playthroughs of spt (i swear ive spent more time doing this rather than actually playing lol). Ive always wanted the pmcs to feel like real fights and im sure some of you are also looking for that so i wanted to share it and suggestions are welcome . This is just a test alpha version, still feeling out kinks right now since bsg changes ai a lot. Check out Shibdib’s preset, i played for a few days on it and its also a good preset and inspired me to make my own.

NOTICE:

This preset is intended to be used with That’s Lit. It effects the bots difficulty, so using this preset without it could lead to terminator pmcs and harder than intended

a lot of non human advantages the ai gets are hard to combat but this helps a little i feel. I also use starting pmcs on moar for reference.

Summary and what I changed:

A lot of time has mostly went into how CQB feels, so let me know if bots feel unfair at long range like sighting instantly or it feels like the goons (i hate them). Im tweaking cover and bots going prone too much at the moment. I tested raids at low levels and high levels, mostly low. so let me know if it gets harder, this is probably hard to balance since its all ammo and gear based. hopefully bot reaction time keeps the endgame in check.

Only scav and pmcs are changed, my preset every other bot type is vanilla, you can turn this off to have just base sain settings for them or keep it on if you like.

Scavs i tried to make easy but not pushovers. Not much work into them since this is pmc focused.

All difficulties are the same so no variance if you like that, personality is the only variance the bots can have, timmy and coward are disabled since i think they’re too easy.

To save some of your guys time and to be clear: this preset is not friendly for those that want pure balance or just want to chill. this is for those that want to try and mimic the feeling of desperately fighting, clinging to your fir salewa with quick decision and aim fights winning the day like in live. You will be head eyes’d sometimes, but you’ll feel alive again. Also i don’t want the bots to be terminators, but react and kill quick up close like real players would.

At the end of the day a lot of us just want what fits our skill level and how we play so this isn’t a fit all preset and was made with my skill level, and ideas effecting tweaking to a certain extent. Take my settings and mess with them yourself until it feels good for you or drop it in sain and forget. If you do offer suggestions and made edits please make sure your observations are still on my default preset.

Upped reaction times and accuracy. head shot chance increased. Thats lit does its job really good sometimes im still finding it easy. more tweaks to come.

Hi all, got busy and couldn’t really update the preset. also was bored of spt.

if anyone still has interest in me tweaking and updating i will, but probably only for 3.10.

i do not plan on making this preset again for newer versions of the game and sain. Really dislike a lot of the new stuff and changes bsg has done since the update 3.10 is based on. Also seen ai has been messed with a lot in recent updates and i honestly dont feel like balancing through bsg’s mess since this preset alone took me 2 years of experiences and tweaks through multiple spt updates.

Nah, bro, this is unplayable with such scavs. I hope u will find a way to fix it. I use looting bot and questing bots. In loting bots I set distance of spotting corpses like 25. And I couldn’t even leave Rashala’s fort at Customs. Scavs rushed without stopping. Even couldn’t heal dismounted limbs ffs

Hey, I got some thoughts about it - it is spt’s problem. Other preset did the same with scavs. Seems like 3.10.5 is guilty.

UPD. I mean I didn’t feel this problem before updating spt to the last patch. And anyway you should try this preset. PMCs’ part is really tasty

Hi sorry for late reply, this update notoriously made scavs insane in vanilla if i remember, and i was finding it difficult balancing them right. youre free to tweak the preset to your liking because idk how to make them fair but challenging

also about scavs swarming i heard that was another vanilla thing and theres really nothing that can be done in my expertise except turn down distance on looting bots

Hey! Mod is soooooo sweet, thanks a lot! Is there any chance to make these drunk poor scavs be less professional? They r overpowered, but their side can’t be such trained and agressive. After 10-15 mins they start to rush me without brakes. It’s a bit odd

soon ill try again tweaking them, its hard making them a fair threat and not completely easy. also i will say this preset is kinda intended for low bot amounts but when you do run into them i wanted it to be a threat. btw i will prob not be making this preset again for newer versions. I have no interest in the new tarkov updates and i think theyre bad. but will continue working on this for 3.10 spt

Hey Ams, thanks for the mod!

I have been testing the preset without That’s Lit (for performance reasons) and it’s very, VERY, nice. Woods is still unbelievably rough, though.

The biggest annoyance for me was PMC spotting responses. Everytime they would scream “Scav spotted” or “Bad guy over there” and give away their position. They still happen, but now they are super rare (1/2 out of 10 encounters, which is great). Plus, there are no more “Granada Toh” or “I’m reloading” (these intermediate call outs are basically non-existent - big W right there). You either avoid their Lebron throws or rush them while reloading/healing, in both cases, you gotta use sound cues.

Potential fix - there are no more dying responses. Everybody who plays this game know how we have to rely on audio to survive. The problem now is that PMC/Scavs don’t scream when they die to a grenade. I couldn’t care less about bullet wounds (which are non-existent now), but this one kinda sucks. I held a corner for 10min VS Glukhar thinking it was 6vs1 while 3 were already dead just to mention one of the many instances where I was in range. Factory and Labs are especially sad like this.

Played almost 25 raids (45min on average).

cant really do anything about dying response since thats separate from what i can edit. all there is agony sfx mod but that wont help the grenade thing really. sorry for late response

thank you for the observations, if any one is still interested in 3.10 and plays it im thinking of going back to updating this and tweaking scavs and pmcs abilities at long distances. so woods felt too hard and theyre too accurate long range for you?

You know Ams, I’m not sure you can take my feedback on Woods as a basis for modification because you said “This mod is meant to be used with ‘That’s Lit” and, to this day, I’m still playing without it. Call me a masochist, but having PMC’s cracked on Woods is kinda thrilling for me now.

In any case, spotting and accuracy are a little over the top. They get me leaking all over the place without a decent sight (most of the time they’re using a 1x) in a way that leave me envious of such tracking. Now, before you make any changes, maybe you should test it with “That’s Lit” and see how Woods feels for you since I don’t run the recommended mods.

If I manage to grab a ryzen x3d processor I get back to you on this topic (Woods pmcs).

tested woods not as much as i would of liked, but for me it felt decent when using thats lit. It really is required in my mind because even messing with distances sometimes bots decide to just snap kill you through foliage because of all the tweaks to reaction times and such. Cant turn down distance either too much or theyll just be dumb in close to mid quarters and sometimes not see you. it really is a double edged sword balancing long range maps and cqb together but i think i got it decently fair if thats lit is on since theyll give them a little delay in vision just like a real person looking through foliage.

your story reminds me of one the last versions of spt where bsg fucked the bots and near default sain gave crazy good but semi fair raids. i was in woods as well and was fighting almost every step i took, wounded constantly but making it through due to quick decisions and aim. one of the inspirations for this preset

there is an option in sain if i remember where you can make certain ai go back to vanilla behavior. other than that would be tedious process of copying my values into your preset then leaving scavs default

I just updated to 3.10, and downloaded this, and after seeing the values… Wouldn’t this profile lead to an unhealthy amount of aimbot? With easier presets in 3.9.8, you could see PMCs one tapping multiple enemies in a second in close quarters or PMCs noticing you very easily even with That’s Lit in maps like Woods.

Is SPT 3.10+SAIN that different compared to the previous version? Or is there an option that you changed that would make the “Difficulty” settings makes sense compared to what I experienced with less extreme values?

this version seems to be better than 3.9. def experienced what you said and remember that, kinda honestly influenced my preset a bit because 3.9.8 ai was wild and i never felt that before. felt amazing and wanted to somewhat copy that but fairly. not sure how different 3.9 and 3.10 are but 3.10 is definitely easier. To me it doesnt feel that aimbotty, i tried to go for accurate bots but not snap aimbots. wanted them fast and accurate up close kinda like a person. as for distance most of my testing it felt somewhat fair

I think so, you can do that, and try etf manager yourself, if not downloading/installing not gonna work.

I dont think this is able to work with the manager, changed the structure and tested and it doesnt know where to unzip the files. presumably because this really isnt a mod in the traditional sense. im probably doing it wrong but not sure how the manager works.

Is it just me or does this preset make so many scavs agro to you after the first like 7 minutes in raid?

it might be because of bsg settings. if theres bodies around scavs are tracking to them a lot in this update i heard and then seeing you and aggroing. other than that theres really no settings i can mess with for aggro (that im aware of), the only thing is aggressiveness but thats in an engagement thing whether not they push you and stuff. i have corpse line of sight check and low distance for looting bots but maybe it doesnt help.

Yeah using moar and it was particularly bad on the small maps like ground zero. Think most scavs would see bodies and go to them and the more i killed the more would come and just keep coming to the point i got overran every raid lol

If ur using looting bots enable line of sight check for bodies in the settings

yeah all i can rec is what agx said, mess with your corpse line of sight check in looting bots and turn distance down, i think mine is on like 25m

thanks for the no talk release you mentioned before, i used it in a couple raids and its def quiter, havnt heard “im reloading” so far.

have you changed anything else in the no talk version or is it the same config from github? (noticed different CRCs but i will test it anyway)

have you tried PerformanceMode?

however, I dont speak Russian and therefore dont know what the BEARs say to me, if they do at all.

ill let you know if I catch any PMCs yapping

Same configs, and decided to bundle them together so you get both when you download. I do not have performance on, not sure what itll do to how they find cover, but might test it out. if it delays their actions and nerfs cover too much probably wont mess with it.

ran few raids and seems like they arent talking anymore, idk if it affected scavs though if you still want them to talk.

yea. wish there was a way to monitor plugins and mods to find out which configs and mods increase latency and how much.

i think the performance mode makes sense if you have many alive bots fighting each other.

if the performance gain is small, not worth it.

scavs and bosses should always talk imo (pscavs should talk randomly)

would feel more like live

yeah let me know if they talk, i also feel like itd be weird without them talking plus thats like live like you said. youre free to test out performance mode and see what your frames are, i doubt itd help much this game is just bad. also if you on fika thats probably not helping frames either

I was walking around with the dev balaclava today and some are completely silent and others are still calling things out. (reload, hit, grenade, etc)

I double checked the dogtags and looked on the DynamicMap to see where the PMCs are.

I went back to the personality settings and deactivated everything there, nothing changed.

I can’t explain it. I asked on discord, but was made to look like the biggest idiot.

Can you check if the PMCs are talking to you when you walk around with devclava?

I use SAIN, MOAR and FIKA. But I will do a clean install with SAIN only soon.

try the new version i wasnt hearing talking at all even when trying to voiceline to them, and with dev balaclava. also was getting no voicelines when i was throwing grenades at them

No, the devclava doesn’t change the behavior. it’s just a convenient way to watch what the bots are doing while they’re dumping magazines into my face.

i spent over 6 hours yesterday trying to figure out which mod bricked my bots.

If you say nobody is talking to you anymore, something must be messing up the AI.

I don’t use many mods, just basic mods like FIKA, MOAR and a few UI mods.

I assume that you are testing your SAIN config in a local game without FIKA.

yeah i dont use fika. Tested probably 10 raids and didnt hear anything, on this new version. possibly it was because i didnt touch the personality talk settings, i thought it wouldnt matter since talking in general was turned off. it should be good to go now with new version, sorry.

Looks good, no talk is working properly.

Ive tested SAIN on my local client without FIKA and it worked. I think the dedicated client is the issue, aint gonna play EFT without it lmao.

ezlife, when I had this issue with other, presets, I’d load it to the main install folders (server/client), then configure SAIN as needed, then close the client and server, then copy the SAIN folder in user/mods over to the Dedi install folder and overwrite what’s there.

this copies all your “server/client” SAIN settings to your Dedi and it runs exactly as your server does. Bots do exactly what you’ve set them to.

I have been building custom SAIN profiles for months, and learned this one trick saves me so much headache.

AmsPhysics i was talking to Lacy and he doesn’t seem to have the problem on his Dedi.

Plot_Device I run the dedicated client on the same computer on which I play.

the headless dedi client isnt pulling any server related mods.

user/mods has no saved SAIN configurations such as presets, pure server logic.

but i get your point,

im running the same copy in BepInEx\plugins on my dedi client.

sometimes i enable graphics mode, edit or check my dedi directly.
