Original description:

Makes backpacks bigger in a balanced way

Josh Mate’s Better Backpacks

Description

Makes Backpacks bigger while still staying in line with Vanilla gameplay balance based on price / rarity / weight

Changes

- All single grid backpacks have had their sizes increased by about 40%

- Boss bags (Birds eye radio / Sanitar / Partisan) have been made significantly larger to fit their boss status

- Bags with multiple grids were increased by less to prevent UI grid overlap issues

- The field medic bag had its item restrictions removed

How to Configure this mod

- All backpacks come pre-edited to new bigger but balanced sizes. Just install and play

- You can edit the values in Mod.ts to your liking

- Increasing bag sizes too much can cause UI grid over lap issues

- Increasing bag sizes on backpacks with multiple frame grids can cause UI issues

Installation

Move the mod’s “user” folder into your SPT AKI folder that contains your user folder.

Is it proper finally? All good? Can I sleep? Yes? Okay.

Updated to 3.11, added new backpacks, has a direct download link compared to Josh Mate’s link, and it has proper file structure so its drag and drop.

Does this mod work with Fika?

Yes it should.

The Rush 100 seems to have overlaps without any modifications to the config. Additionally, how can you edit the lower/main backpack compartment size?

I’ll check it and update the mod. I probably accidentally left a line in for the rush 100.

Just FWIW, I just downloaded your mod today and this is still an issue for the Rush 100. I appreciate the mod

this is phenomenal but i recommend also buffing the SATL a ton, it’s 36 right now but huge compared to some of the others. Love it nonetheless, thanks!

Due to the layout of the SATL, you cant modify its size. Atleast, not with this mod.

finally the game about looting stuff I can loot all the stuff, I was relying on RaidOverhaul’s built in “make backpack bigger” but only worked on a very basic few backpacks, making a new ‘meta’ which felt bleh. Now everyones backpacks will be juicy. Thanks for the port/updates/fixes

Hi

I don’t know if it’s just me or not. But there are some backpacks that are too big and go outside the limits of the character screen. If you want I can show you a screenshot on discord in mod issues. I don’t know if I can show it here.

As far as I remember, the original author put the 6sh backpack at 6/12, whereas this mod puts it at 7/13, which is definitely going overboard. Just an example of one backpack I most definitely remember being at the max allowed size before things got wonky.

You could either wait for Hauz to fix this, or just go into the mod.ts file yourself and edit the values to what the original mod had.
