Introduction
Tarkov’s recoil feels kind of bland and weightless. This (relatively) lightweight mod aims to make recoil punchier by tweaking some recoil values. While I am open to suggestions, this mod is ultimately shaped by my own preferences and is thus highly opinionated around what I would like Tarkov’s recoil to look and feel like. Feature requests are always welcome.
I encourage you to play around with various settings to see what suits you.
Preview
Somewhat outdated and not the best example of what’s possible with this mod. I’ll get around to making a better preview someday.
Installation
Drag and drop. Like any other mod.
Known Issues
- Left stance pistol recoils look broken because vanilla left stance is wack. Pushed a temporary “fix”, but it’s still janky.
- Pistol (real) recoils are weird. Just reduce the multipliers/
- The occasional NullReferenceException. If you see any let me know.

Hello, I would like to know if you are interested in trying to create another alternative recoil. This time related to the implementation of recoil in the style of 12.11 with an initial recoil toss and subsequent soft auto-compensation? (For reference, that recoil was very pleasant, it was spoiled in 12.12 by forcibly increasing it to 25% for all weapons and until patch 14 there was practically no attempt to correct the situation.) If so, I will be happy to help with materials for any request for a video for clarity.

Is the recoil of AK 5.45 too high?
If this becomes compatible with realism it’ll be the best recoil mod easily.
Using realism beta 3. Maybe talk to Fontaine to implement all the settings/mod ? I imagine many people will shift to realism.
Are AIs also affected by ‘Real recoil vertical mult’ and ‘Real recoil horizontal mult’ values?
Regarding the new alternate spring based real recoil option: Is there a way to configure it so that the “zero” moves up with each shot rather than staying the same at the start of a “burst”? I like how one shot returns to its original position, but if you hold the trigger down, the barrel will stop rising at a certain point and just stay in that area until the magazine empties.
recoil still insane even after deleting config, 1.7.1 recoil was perfect, i would understand this recoil if you could pull down easily like in realism or insurgency sandstorm

Recoil is insanely high in hideout and raid, still. Removed config file, reinstalled, tried some previous versions, nothing works.
I’m also not sure if your footage is just good recoil control or not, and that I am just misinterpreting this mod as a rework rather than a difficulty increase. Would be helpful if you full sprayed without controlling as a baseline example.
For reference though, whenever I shoot 1 shot of a pb pistol at the back middle target’s head in firing range, it recoils to slightly above the wall, with like 20 degree horizontal recoil sometimes, which seems pretty ridiculous.
as others have mentioned, recoil crank in the hideout is pretty insane in 1.8.0.
in-raid, recoil is a bit better.
