Have you ever been running from a squad only to run right into a bush and die because you couldn’t sprint through it? Then this mod is for you. BushWhacker disables all bush and swamp slowdown effects, allowing you to sprint through them as if they don’t exist.

This mod has been made standalone and is distributed with permission from the original author.

I’m pretty sure it didn’t work with the same version in CWX’s MegaMod either, so I don’t plan on trying to fix this as the focus is on bushes.

the mod is disabled by default enable it in the f12 bepinex menu

Would it be possible to use thresholds instead of on/off? I don’t mind bushes and swamps in principle, but the 90% slowdown feels excessive, especially for small shrubs. I feel like 50% slowdown would be tolerable, but not sure if it’s way harder to change the value instead of disabling it entirely.

I personally think that damage to the player is better than any form of slowdown. In real life running through a bush will hurt but it will not slow you down very significantly, at least not in the way we have it in Tarkov.

As it works right now, it is in fact just disabled entirely (the value is still being changed). I don’t really have any will to bother figuring out a scale or ratio currently

Honestly, I feel like the most intuitive thing would be if your inertia affected whether the slowdown happened - e.g. if I’m sprinting at full tilt, a bush isn’t gonna do anything to slow me down, but if I’m crouch-walking, it’d be a meaningful obstruction. Probably out of scope of this mod, though.

I can probably do a player stance check, but depending on how involved it is I’ll either go through with it or choose not to
