Hello fellow hUmmmans. I present you with a preset for SAIN.

Should work with SAIN 4.2.0, 4.1.3 .

Try To Act Human is a preset for SAIN. I tried to make Tarkov’s bots behave more realistically and fairly — without superhuman reflexes or robotic precision.

Changes:

  • Bot stats are scaled per difficulty level to allow for some randomness.
  • Gunshot and other sound(e.g. healing, reload and looting) hearing ranges reduced.
  • Bot grenade throw accuracy reduced.
  • Reaction times should be more human like.
  • Scavs are less likely to swarm the player when he starts shooting.
  • Bot accuracy adjusted.
  • Bot engagement ranges reduced.
  • Bot hearing randomization increased. They should have a harder time pin pointing your location when you shoot at them from a far.

Installation guide:

  1. Download and unzip the “Try To Act Human” mod archive.

  2. Open the unzipped folder — inside, you’ll find a BepInEx folder.

  3. Drop the entire BepInEx folder into your SPTarkov root directory (the same folder that has EscapeFromTarkov.exe).

  4. Merge and overwrite if prompted.

  5. Launch the game.

  6. Open the SAIN config menu f12.

  7. Select the preset labeled “Try To Act Human.”

  8. Enjoy.

Re-uploaded the mod cause the mod page got glitched when i unpublished it. Also updated the preset.

Been using this preset for a handful of raids. For the most part, it does keep the AI from being aimbots and head/eyeing you from insane distances. BUT, the AI does tend to see and lock onto you from insane distances. An example being on Ground Zero in the machine gun room, had an AI PMC over 100m away manage to see me when I only had my head peaked and not moving whatsoever. I will be tweaking some stuff to try and fix that, if I figure it out I’ll post my solution under this comment. That aside, this preset makes firefights feel a lot more natural. The AI acts more like a real person would if their life was on the line, instead of sweaty Twitch streamers b-hopping and baiting shots. I’ve had situations where I heard a PMC in the next room, and instead of bum rushing me or walking straight towards me like their strolling through Walmart, they found an angle and held it waiting for me to come to them. Pairs nicely with the ABPS spawn mod, which in turn pairs nicely with AI Limit mod to prevent stuttering/fps issues. Nice work, Vyckalino!

what were the changes in V.4.0.0 ? anything that is making a big diffrence in the bots behaviour?

I’d like to know that as well before updating. I don’t need to know the change of every single value, but what was the intent behind the changes? :)

Agreed. I will say so far from my testing AI doesnt aim for head instantly anymore.

Had to switch back to Sain stock. Due to the AI in this Preset insta tapping head pretty much the moment I turn the corner or lean out even with their back or side to me. PMCS / Bosses / anything better then a scav.

You should also consider doing a proper update to SAIN 4.2.0 which may fix these issues I mentioned.

There is one problem: sometimes enemies can shoot at the wall you are behind if the distance to them is about 50 meters or less. I have come across this many times, especially in the forest and at customs.

However, the error is also present in the factory map. Perhaps this is not due to the preset, but rather to SAIN as a whole. For example, when you go to F6, there may be an error indicating compatibility problems.

Tried a couple of run with it on 3.11.4 and it seems to work for now ; is it designed to work for 4.00 only ?

Having some weird problems with the PMC-AI. Same problems as reported for Live Like Experience Preset on the Discord.

Had a PMC just running straight into a wall, didn’t even react to my nade. Another PMC just stood and was just turning around himself not moving.

Hmm never had this happen to me when playing, although I rarely use grenades. On what map did it happen?

Hey! Sorry for delayed response. The PMC running into a wall, was on Customs. But the problem with them not moving is on all maps. Although, I suspect it is caused by the same thing. https://imgur.com/a/gLKcYS8

As you can see in the picture, both squads here are just standing still in one spot. But from what I can read on the Discord, it’s not necessarily your preset, but a problem with SAIN and custom-presets in general at the moment.
