Your scope zeroes itself to whatever you're aiming at. Aim, and the sight snaps to the closest zeroing distance — no clicking through steps mid-fight. Now also zeroes for the ammo actually in your gun, not the weapon's default round.

Ammo aware zeroing. Tarkov calibrates a scope’s zeroing against the weapon’s default ammo no matter what you actually loaded — an AK-74 is always zeroed for PS gs at 890 m/s. Load 5.45 US gs at 303 m/s and your rounds land well under the reticle, visibly so from about 100 m out.

Zeroing is now recalculated from the cartridge actually chambered, using the game’s own trajectory solver, so drop matches the velocity of what you are firing. It re-solves when you switch ammo mid-raid, and does nothing at all when the loaded round is already the weapon’s default.

Toggleable in F12 under 2. Ranging → Ammo Aware Zeroing, on by default.
